Daniel Richard Caldwell, judicial official, later senior police officer, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong from 1845 to 1850. He was the Chinese and Malay Interpreter in the Police Magistracy in 1846. He held the following positions in 1850: Chinese Interpreter of the Supreme Court, Assistant Superintendent of the Hong Kong Police Force, and Assessor and Collector of Police Rates of the Colonial Treasury and Revenue Office.
