Andrew Shortrede, newspaper publisher, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong from 1846 to 1850. He was the editor, printer and publisher of The China Mail between 1846 and 1850. The office of the newspaper was located in Pottinger Street in 1846. He was a member of the Royal Asiatic Society, China Branch in 1850.
