Stanton, Vincent John 史丹頓

The Rev. Vincent John Stanton 史丹頓, Anglican Church priest, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong from 1846 to 1850. He was the Colonial Chaplain of the Anglican Church between 1846 and 1850. He was the ex officio Chairman of the Trustees of St. John's Church, and the Honorary Principal of the Anglo Chinese School in 1850. He was a Vice President of  the Medical Missionary Society 中國博醫會 in 1850. He sat on a number of committees including the Committee of Supervision of the Government Chinese Free Schools at Victoria, Aberdeen and Stanley, the Standing Committee of the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge; the Standing Committee of the Incorporated Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts, and the Committee of Management of the Society for Relief of Sick and Destitute Foreigners in 1850. He was elected Vice President of the Royal Asiatic Society, China Branch in the same year. Government Hill was listed as his address in 1850.
