Stuart, Charles James Fife

Charles James Fife Stuart, bank manager, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong in 1850. He was the manager of the Oriental Bank in 1850. He was a Justice of the Peace (non-official) in 1850. He was a member of the Royal Asiatic Society, China Branch in 1850, and the treasurer of the Hong Kong Club in the same year.

Stuart was born in Valenciennes, Nord, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France in 1817. He was married to Caroline Georgina Tyndall in Dorset, England in 1844. By then he was a secretary of the Oriental Bank and had been appointed to various posts in China and India. He was later promoted to the position of Inspector of the region. He died in Bahia, Brazil on December 8, 1875,

Smollett James Drummond Campbell (manager in Hong Kong in 1846) was married to Mary Adelaide Tyndall; Charles James Fife Stuart (manager in Hong Kong in 1850) to Caroline Georgina Tyndall. The Tyndall girls were the sisters of Bruce Tyndall (assistant in Hong Kong in 1850).]
