Gustav Frederik O'Hara Taaffe, mercantile assistant, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong in 1850. He was employed by the mercantile firm, John Burd & Co., in 1850. He was the Danish Consul in Hong Kong. Queen's Road West was listed as his address in 1850.
Taaffe was general agent of the London based Union Assurance Company in California in 1871. He died in San Francisco on April 18, 1874.
