Thomas Francis Wade 威妥瑪, judicial official, later civil servant, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong from 1846 to 1850. He was Supreme Court's interpreter in 1846. He worked for the Colonial Secretary's Office as the Assistant Chinese Secretary in 1850. He was the Assistant Chinese Secretary in the Hong Kong Office of the British Plenipotentiary and Chief Superintendent of Trade in 1848, and the acting Chinese Secretary in 1850. He was a member of the Royal Asiatic Society, China Branch in 1850.
