Jacob Philips, merchant, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong from 1846 to 1850. He was the name partner of the mercantile firm, Philips, Moore & Co., between 1846 and 1850. He was a member of Committee of the Victoria Library and Reading Room in 1850 as well as a member of the Royal Asiatic Society, China Branch in the same year.
