Lockhart, William

William Lockhard, surgeon, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong in 1846. He was a medical missionary belonged to the London Missionary Society.

Gillespie, William

The Rev. William Gillespie, Presbyterian Minister, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong from July 1844 to 1847. He carried on missionary work for the London Missionary Society. He had made no less than two attempts to begin mission work in Canton, first in 1845, at which time he was driven out by the hostile populace. His second attempt was made in October 1847, although successful, he soon returned to Hong Kong and from thence to Britain.

Gillespie was born in 1819. He was a member of the Presbyterian United Secession Church and was recruited by the London Missionary Society to mission in China. He went to China the last time in 1849 after having married the previous year. He work in Canton alone for about a year and returned to Scotland to become the pastor of United Presbyterian churches in Shiels, Aberdeenshire.

Hirschberg, H.J.

H.J. Hirschberg, surgeon, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong in 1850. He was a medical missionary who belonged to the Hong Kong Station of the London Missionary Society in 1850. He was one of the three coadjutors of the Union Church in 1850. He was the Recording Secretary of  the Medical Missionary Society 中國博醫會 in 1850.

Legge, James 理雅各

The Rev. James Legge 理雅各, missionary, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong in 1850. He was the Minister of the Hong Kong Station of the London Missionary Society 倫敦傳道會 in 1850. He was the Superintendent of the Theological Seminary of the London Missionary Society  倫敦傳道會中國神學院 in 1850. He was the pastor of the Union Church in 1850.
