McKnight, Thomas

Thomas MacKnight, British Royal Navy civilian employee, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong from 1842 to 1849. Naval store sheds, referred to as the HM Victualing Yard, were erected in Hong Kong in April 1841 on Possession Street, West Point. MacKnight was appointed the first naval storekeeper and agent victualler on March 21, 1842 and held that position until October 1849.
