Forcade, Theodorus Augustinus 科主教

The Rt. Rev. Theodorus Augustinus Forcade 科主教, Catholic priest, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong from 1847 to 1850. He was Prefect Apostolic of the Roman Catholic Church in Hong Kong between October 5, 1847 and August 24, 1850.

Forcade was born on March 2, 1816. He belonged to the Société des Missions étrangères de Paris (Society of Foreign Missions of Paris) 巴黎外方傳教會 which sent him to the Ryūkyū Kingdom (present day Okinawa Prefecture of Japan) in April 1844. He went to Tokyo in September 1846 and became Vicar Apostolic of Japan between 1846 and 1852. He lived and worked in Hong Kong between 1847 and 1850. He was Bishop of Samos in 1850. He was Bishop of Basse-Terre (Guadeloupe) between 1853 and 60, and Bishop of Nevers between 1860 and 1873. He was Archbishop of Aix-en-Provence between 1873 and 1885. He died on September 12, 1885.
