Thomas David Neave, merchant, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong in 1850. He was a partner in the mercantile firm, Macvicar & Co., in 1850. He was a director of the Hong Kong and Canton Steam Packet Co. in 1850. He was a Justice of the Peace (non-official) in 1850 and a trustee of the St. John's Church in the same year. He was the Auditor of the Medical Missionary Society 中國博醫會 in 1850. He sat in a number of committees including the Standing Committee of the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge; and the Standing Committee of the Incorporated Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts in 1850. Spring Gardens was listed as his address in 1850.
