John Gorringe, British Army surgeon, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong from 1849 to 1858. He was an acting assistant surgeon attached to the 59th (2nd Nottinghamshire) Regiment of Foot. The 59th Regiment was stationed in Hong Kong between 1849 and 1858. He was confirmed as Assistant Surgeon on June 8, 1849.
